Sponsoring a Supplement to AJHP

Sole-sponsored supplemental issues of AJHP may be purchased for $101,590 (for any supplement 32 pages or less). This fee applies to all supplements published between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. One-half payment ($50,795) is required upon manuscript submission for publication consideration (this payment will be refunded, if the supplement is rejected for publication). The balance will be invoiced upon acceptance of the supplement, with payment due in 30 days. Payment in full must be received at least 60 days prior to scheduled publication date. Supplement manuscripts will not be scheduled for publication until the balance has been paid in full. Payment will not be refunded for supplements accepted by AJHP but withdrawn by the submitting agent.

This fee covers all editing, composition, printing (supplement cover in addition to the text pages), and mailing 35,769 copies to all ASHP members, second-class in a plastic bag with the regular issue of AJHP. The pricing for supplements longer than 32 pages is:

Additional copies or overruns of the supplement may be purchased and these orders should be made in writing prior to printing the supplement. Articles considered for supplements are peer-reviewed by the manuscript development editors. Supplement guest editors are also expected to exercise responsibility in ensuring that the papers submitted are balanced and publishable. A publication date can be projected when the manuscripts are accepted. Typically, the supplement is published three to four months after acceptance of manuscripts.

Once a decision is made to submit a supplement to AJHP, the following items should be sent to AJHP editorial staff prior to manuscript submission.

  1. Faculty list
  2. Content outline
  3. Proposed supplement title
  4. Targeted date for submission
  5. Needs assessment and/or grant letter/proposal
  6. Primary contact name and address, phone, email
